One thing worth allowing for: Beach Road is the quickest way into the suburb from the north, and on a weekend morning it belongs to cyclists well before eight. If the booking has a hard start time, we will usually come down Nepean Highway instead and build in a few extra minutes.

The bathing boxes, honestly
The row of timber bathing boxes on Dendy Street Beach is the most photographed thing in Bayside, and yes, it is the backdrop people ask us for. Worth being clear about how that actually works.
The shot everybody has seen is taken from the foreshore, not from the sand. We park where cars are allowed to park, the photographer walks the few metres down, and the boxes do the rest. We do not drive onto the beach or the foreshore reserve, and for a commercial shoot the council permit is the production's to organise. It is a good location in the right light. Early morning, before the Bay Trail fills with cyclists, is when it looks the way you are imagining.
Weddings on the bay
Brighton weddings have a rhythm of their own. Photographs at Green Point or along the foreshore, the ceremony somewhere within a few kilometres, and a reception that is often back towards the city. The two shopping strips give the suburb its weekday character: Church Street for the boutiques and long lunches, Bay Street for the everyday. Middle Brighton Baths and the pier sit a little further along the foreshore, and the Royal Brighton Yacht Club anchors the northern end of the beach.
