Off the ship, into something better

Station Pier is Melbourne's cruise terminal, and disembarkation is a long, slow, crowded business. The last thing anybody wants at the end of it is a queue for a taxi.

Princes Pier sits just along the foreshore, restored down to its old timber stumps, and it is a good deal quieter if photographs are on the agenda.

Bay Street, Beacon Cove and the blocks behind

Away from the piers, the suburb is residential and easy to work in. Bay Street carries the cafes, pubs and restaurants and runs from the light rail down to the beach. Beacon Cove and the surrounding developments fill the land around the old pier approaches, and the 109 tram runs from the waterfront straight up Collins Street into the city.

Inland the suburb changes character entirely. Towards Fishermans Bend and the industrial blocks off Williamstown Road it is warehouses, workshops and freight rather than waterfront apartments, and it is about four minutes from one to the other. We deliver across both halves.

Delivery here is straightforward. We bring the car to your building or your door, clean and fuelled, walk you through it, and collect it afterwards. Apartment basements are the only thing worth checking first: some of the newer buildings have a ramp that a low car will not clear, in which case we hand over at street level instead.

Airport runs from the bay

Port Melbourne is a good address for it. Tullamarine is a clear run up the freeway outside peak, and Avalon is the other direction entirely. A tracked flight and a car already waiting turns the worst part of travelling into the easiest, and it matters most on the early departures where nothing else is open yet.

Transfer work rewards space. A large luxury SUV swallows cruise luggage, sits high enough that nobody has to fold themselves into it, and is quiet enough to sleep in on the way home {{CONFIRM_FLEET}}.
